Many-Headed Hydra, Peter Linebaugh, £12.00

General Strike 1926: the Workers Taste Power, The Socialist Party, £7.50

Left London, William Eckersley & Alexander Shields, £25.00. This
book, containing 170 pages of photographs, was inspired by Shields's master course
in graphic design at Central St Martins. As part of his studies he became interested
in London's abandoned buidings. After accumulating a large number of photos, the
idea of documenting this rarely seen side of city life began to take on a life
of its own. In the months that followed, the pair took over twenty thousand photos
and visited more than a hundred sites across the capital. From this vast amount
of material emerged the catagories into which the book is divided - Industry,
Transport, Health and Leisure - reflecting a pattern of abandonment and decay
that extends from the centre of London to the periphery.
